How to View FPS in Diablo III Reaper of Souls

August 17, 2015 by Richard Vincenti Jr Leave a Comment

Diablo3ROSLogo FPS

Are you having any issues with lag in Diablo III Reaper of Souls for PC or Mac ? You may want to check on your frames per second or (FPS).  This information is normally not displayed by default but it’s really easy to enable and you can do it without any add-ons.

  • If you’re playing Diablo III, during gameplay, you can simply press Control+ R on your keyboard to view your FPS. This also works the same way for Mac Keyboards.

As far as resolving issues with drops in frame rate, you might want to first try changing some of your graphics settings to see if there are any noticeable improvements. You may also want to make sure that you have the latest drivers for your specific graphics card. Another good troubleshooting technique is to check Task Manager if your running Windows or the Activity Monitor on Mac OS X. These programs allow you to ensure that there are no other programs running in the background that could degrade the performance of your game. If your running the game on a standard mechanical hard drive, then you may want to check to see if your disk is in good health or if  it needs to be defragmented.

Another possible cause if lag in Diablo III Reaper of Souls is network lag. Diablo III is an online game and is therefore susceptible to poor quality networks and slower bandwidth speeds. Network lag can also feel a lot like hardware performance lag as far as FPS go. You should always check your internet connection when you’re having issues, it might not even be your hardware that’s causing the issue.

These are just a few basic steps you can take to start troubleshooting your game performance. These basic system checks can be utilized for just about any game that your having issues with, not just Diablo III

Still having issues with the game? Need more answers? One of the best ways to get help is to try and get answers from the community on Blizzard’s forums. Here, you can get in touch with other gamers to get information about your problems and you may even get a response from Blizzard on the subject.

Blizzard Announces Heroes of the Storm With Awesome Cinematic

November 10, 2013 by Richard Vincenti Jr 1 Comment

In what is personally my favorite announcement from Blizzcon 2013, Heroes of the Storm is on it’s way! Heroes of the Storm is the final name for the DOTA project that Blizzard has been hard at work on. The project was originally going to be a part of StarCraft II as an add-on but has now become a standalone game that looks like it’s going to pack quite a punch.

HeroesOTSSS1

Heroes of the Storm will be a free-to-play digital download and is essentially Blizzard’s take on the “Team Brawler” / Action RTS or League of Legends style game. You will get to fight your battles with your favorite Blizzard characters including Diablo, Kerrigan, Malfurion, Jim Raynor, The Lich King and possibly even the Lost Vikings! You can get complete game details from Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm site.

Heroes of the Storm™ is a raucous online team brawler starring your favorite Blizzard characters. Build and customize heroes from across every Blizzard universe to suit your play style. Team up with your friends and engage in fast-paced mayhem across varied battlegrounds that impact strategy and change the way you play the game.” -Blizzard Entertainment

In a recent press release from Blizzard Entertainment we now know that Blink 182 will be officially closing out Blizzcon 2013. Blizzard canceled their plans for a 2012 Blizzcon last year due to an intense internal schedule but in 2011 they had a fantastic show and closed it all out with legendary rockers The Foo Fighters.

“After two days of hard work watching games and playing games and talking about games, we can’t think of a better way to kick back and relax than to have your face melted by Blink-182,”  “We’re thrilled to have such an awesome band helping us bring BlizzCon to an epic conclusion.” – Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment.

“Nothing beats touring and playing in front of a live crowd,” said Tom DeLonge, Blink-182 guitarist and vocalist. “Our roots are in Southern California, so playing at BlizzCon will be like having a show in our own backyard—only with a couple thousand more orcs and elves in loincloths and bikini armor.”

Blizzard to Shut Down Diablo III Real Money Auction House

September 17, 2013 by Richard Vincenti Jr Leave a Comment

D3RMAH

Blizzard Entertainment has sent out emails to Diablo III owners with a notice that they are going to be shutting down the real money auction house on March 18, 2014.

The new feature initially received quite a bit of criticism but seemed to be holding it’s own during the first few months of the games release. Over time, Blizzard has changed it’s view of how the real money auction house impacts the game and has decided that it “ultimately undermines Diablo’s core game play: kill monsters to get cool loot.” Below is the official notice. Your can also read Blizzard’s blog post about the closure.

“We are writing tell you about an important change to Diablo III: we’re going to be removing the gold and real-money auction house system from the game.

When we initially designed and implemented the auction house system, the driving goal was to provide a convenient and secure system for trades. But after much review and player feedback, it became increasingly clear that despite the benefits of the AH system and the fact that many players around the world use it, it ultimately undermines Diablo’s core game play: kill monsters to get cool loot.

We’re working out the details of how the auction house system will be shut down, but we wanted to share the news as soon as we made the decision in order to give everyone as much advance notice as possible. Please note that the final shutdown will occur on March 18, 2014. We will keep everyone informed as we work through this process, but feel free to check out our blog post on the subject, and stay tuned to Diablo 3.com for further details.
