Hearthstone Grand Tournament Release Date

HearthStone Grand Tournament Logo

Attention all Hearthstone fans! The release date for the Grand Tournament has been officially announced by Blizzard. The latest update to Blizzard’s wildly successful online collectable card game, Hearthstone, will officially arrive on August 24.

  • The only exception to this date is Asia, which will be able to play Hearthstone, Grand Tournament on August 25.

The Grand Tournament will feature an brand new game mechanic called Inspire. When you use your Hero Power you will trigger Inspire which in turn will provide you with a benefit like stat gains, additional minions, new abilities and much more. What happens with inspire is all based on the description of the particular card you’re playing. Ultimately, Inspire will now give you more reasons to use your Hero Power and provide a new way for you to defeat your enemies.

Grand Tournament will bring with it 132 new cards to the game, which will now provide players with a reason to spend all of that gold and dust that they have been hanging on to. Along with the new cards there will be a new board to play on and a new game mechanic called Jousting. This new mechanic will have players draw and reveal one card from their decks, the player who draws the higher cost card will be the winner. If you drew the joust card and win, then you will gain the additional benefit from that card’s description.

This is Hearthstone’s second major expansion and it looks to be a lot of fun. For complete information head to Blizzard’s Hearthstone Grand Tournament page.

3DS Gets Nintendo Network ID

Nintendo has just launched Nintendo Network ID through a new software update on the 3DS. This means that your 3DS will have an account system that’s very similar to the Wii U. In fact, if you own a Wii U and a 3DS, you can now link both consoles to one Nintendo Network ID which will allow you to use the same funds across both platforms.

Other features include being able to use Miiverse on 3DS just like you would on Wii U and of course continued access to the Nintendo eShop. The key feature of this update is obviously the ability to share a wallet between consoles, this is something that has been requested for some time.

There will no doubt be more features added to enhance the Nintendo Network as time goes on, but my personal request would be that they offer more downloads, like virtual console content, that can be played on both the Wii U and 3DS.

PS4 outselling Xbox One in UK

by Richard Vincenti JrLeave a Comment

ps4ConsoleShot

In what has been a true battle of the “next-gen” consoles, Playstation 4 appears to be currently winning the race, at least in the UK according to VG247.

The source MCV, states that the PS4 has sold about 250,000 units and has tallied up £87 million in just 48 hours, beating out the 150,000 units that the Xbox One has sold so far. It’s obviously still too early to tell who’s going to win, at least in terms of sales, but these early numbers do seem to give Sony a bit of an edge. How do you think things will shake out in the end? Will Xbox catch up?

Amazon Prime Air Wants to Fly Things To Your House in 30 Min

by Richard Vincenti JrLeave a Comment

In what could be one of the craziest and most brilliant ideas, Amazon has announced that they are working on a new delivery service called “Amazon Prime Air“. The new delivery system uses a small unmanned aerial robot to fly packages you order from Amazon directly to your house in 30 minutes or less!

This delivery option would be absolutely amazing if it could work properly. More consumers than ever before purchase items online, in fact statistics show that e-commerce alone has brought in nearly $289 billion in the U.S for 2012. There’s no doubt that the will be a huge demand for this type of service but whether or not it can be done remains to be seen.

Amazon admits that it will take many years for this service to get up an running on a commercial scale and that one of the first major hurdles will be lining up FAA rules and regulations, but the service could be up and running as soon as 2015. What do you think about this service?
