Featured App: Papa Pear Saga

by KarleneLeave a Comment

Papa Pear Saga is a game made by the same company who also made Candy Crush (King), and it’s just as addicting. With so many matching games very similar to Candy Crush, Papa Pear is something a little different and very fun.

It does involve “lives”, you have 5 and every time you lose a game, you lose a life, then the timer counts down to receive more. You also have the option of in-game purchases (with real money), such as power ups, or gold bars to help you move along a little faster and easier. If you’ve played these types of apps before, you know all about it. Most of them now a days all work pretty much the same, but I do recommend this game, it is really fun.

Description

Try to make each Papa Pear shot bounce on as many objects as possible. Land a Papa Pear in each Barrel to advance to the next level.

Instructions

  1. Try to make each Papa Pear bounce on as many objects as possible to earn points.
  2. Try to land Papa Pear in each Barrel and advance to next level, new levels means more things to bounce on = more points.
  3. Try to catch all multiplier pegs because this will increase your multiplier and thereby your score.

You can play Papa Pear on Facebook, Google Play, and at Papa Pear Saga.

If you go to PapaPearSaga.com it says the game will soon be coming to iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android devices.

How To: Fix iPhone Autocorrect Without Turning It Off

by KarleneLeave a Comment

If you text on your iPhone, and start typing but the phone doesn’t recognize the word you’re trying to type, it will autocorrect it to what it thinks you meant to say, and it’s often way off. If you’re like me, quickly typing through a text, the autocorrect is otherwise very useful as it does a pretty good job most of the time.

I like to have autocorrect turned on for the words it does get right and so just turning it off doesn’t work for me. For the those words that just don’t seem to ever autocorrect to what you want, you can use the “shortcut” feature in iOS to correct this issue.

Here’s how it’s done:

  • Go into Settings > General > Keyboard.
  • Select “Add New Shortcut” at the bottom of the list.
  • In the section that says “Phrase” type the word you want the phone to learn.

The “Shortcut” option is optional, and is for shortening your phrase, for example: Phrase- “On my way”. Shortcut- “omw”. If it’s just one word you do not need to add the shortcut.

There you have it, so easy. Add more words as you wish and the autocorrect will bother you no more! Yay!

Featured App: Battle Camp

by KarleneLeave a Comment

Battle Camp is a great FREE app I came across and haven’t been able to put it down since. I’ve been seeing a lot of these types of games lately but this one is by far the best. Customize your little character from head to toe. They start you off with plenty of hairstyles and clothes, unlike some apps that want you to pay for 90% of the goods with real money. There is the option of in-game purchases, of course, like more energy and coins.

Battle other players in PvP, or monsters within the game. It’s as if Bejeweled and Pokemon had a love child. Match 3 or more and it creates an attack or gives you health. Fight to gather new monsters to battle with. Evolve them, make them stronger to battle your opponents.

Description

EXPERIENCE THE AWESOME!

Dare to clash with rampaging dragons and fire-belching warthogs? Then join Battle Camp, a persistent virtual world filled with legendary monsters and ancient evils. To survive, train a fierce monster team and form a Troop with fellow Rangers. Then work together to crush raid bosses, wage Troop Wars and dominate in real-time PvP.

Features:
• Monster battling Puzzle MMO.
• Explore a LIVE Virtual World.
• Form a Troop with friends and other players.
• Crush the opposition in Troop Wars.
• Coordinate attacks in monthly Raid Events.
• Destroy rivals in Real-Time PvP Tournaments.
• Capture and raise over 175 monsters.
• Design your own unique avatar.
