Awesome Paper Art by Alia Design

Alia is an artist who creates amazing things with paper. The art is called quilling. Quilling is a craft that involves cutting paper into strips and shaping the pieces into arcs, curves, and coils. Those shapes are then glued into place by hand to make these beautiful designs.

Both the subject matter and style of my work are a departure from traditional quilling. All of my pieces focus on geek culture, employing unique techniques and design elements I developed myself. Though my personal choice of theme falls into the geek realm, I love collaborating to do custom orders of any subject matter! -Alia

A confirmed release date of December 18, 2015 was set for the highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII.

We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday filmgoing season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture.

StarWars.com  says shooting is scheduled to begin spring 2014 at Pinewood Studios.

Adam Savage as Chewbacca!

Adam Savage from Mythbusters dressed up as Chewbacca at the 2013 Comic-Con earlier this year to raise money for charity. Adam was inducted into the 501st Legion: the largest international fan organization for Star Wars cosplayers. This video is from Tested, a great geeky website that I mentioned earlier that Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman are a part of.
